SEWERAGE
The subdivision has its own stand-alone sewage treatment plant. This is a tried and true low-tech option, designed and operated by Innoflow Technologies. The treatment plant, which is tucked away against a nearby hill, is owned and managed by a private company. All section owners in the subdivision become shareholders in the company.
WATER SUPPLY
There is no public water supply at Matapouri. Each section owner will need to install a water tank to collect rainwater from their roof. It is possible that bores could also be an option. Individual section owners wishing to put down a bore will need to contact the Northland Regional Council.
ELECTRICITY, PHONE LINES AND PROVISION FOR BROADBAND
Electricity and telephone lines are supplied to the boundary of each section. Ducting is in place for future broadband cabling. The future provision of broadband service to Matapouri is dependent on service providers.
ROADING
The road through the subdivision has been built to Whangarei District Council standards. It is tar sealed with grass verges.
RIGHTS OF WAY
Permanently surfaced rights of way provide vehicle access to the rear 3 sections and the exclusive ROW for the front section is grassed.
COVENANT CONDITIONS
Covenant conditions have been kept to a minimum. A few simple rules apply, to ensure that all land owners in the subdivision can enjoy clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing surroundings. The covenant conditions cover buildings and building materials, temporary accommodation, landscaping and upkeep, and the sewerage treatment system. A detailed document is available (see the Covenants section of this web site)
